Amodei, Mark E.

Mark Amodei is a Republican lawyer and politician who has represented Nevada's 2nd congressional district since 2011. Born in 1958, he established a long career in Nevada politics, serving in both the State Assembly and State Senate before winning a special election to the U.S. House of Representatives. As the only Republican in Nevada's congressional delegation, he is currently the dean of the group. In early 2026, he announced that he would not seek re-election at the end of his current term.

Amodei holds influential roles on the House Committee on Appropriations and the House Committee on Natural Resources. He serves as the Chair of the Homeland Security subcommittee within Appropriations and is active on subcommittees regarding Financial Services, Interior and Environment, and Federal Lands.
