Vern Buchanan represents Florida's 16th congressional district and has served in the House of Representatives since 2007. A member of the Republican Party, he represents a district anchored by Bradenton. Before entering public service, he spent over three decades as a successful businessman, building an extensive automotive empire and founding American Speedy Printing. He is recognized as one of the wealthiest members of Congress, with a diverse portfolio including car dealerships and international reinsurance companies. In early 2026, he announced that he would not seek re-election for another term.
