Troy Balderson is a Republican U.S. Representative from Ohio's 12th district who previously served in both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly and worked in his family's car business.
Background
Troy Balderson was born on January 16, 1962. While a college student, he began working as a mechanic for his family's business, Balderson Motor Sales. He later served as the company's vice president and general manager from 1987 to 2008, representing the third generation of his family to run the dealership.
Political career
Troy Balderson began his political career in the Ohio House of Representatives, where he served from 2009 to 2011 before being appointed to the Ohio Senate. He represented the state's 20th Senate district from 2011 until 2018, winning a full four-year term in 2012 and running unopposed for reelection in 2016. A member of the Republican Party, he has served as the U.S. representative for Ohio's 12th congressional district since 2018.
