Dan Crenshaw is a Republican Representative from Texas's 2nd district and a former U.S. Navy SEAL officer who has served in Congress since 2019.
Background
Dan Crenshaw was born on March 14, 1984. He served as a commissioned officer and Navy SEAL with SEAL Team 3, reaching the rank of lieutenant commander and deploying to the War in Afghanistan. After being wounded in action and losing his right eye, he later worked as a legislative assistant to Representative Pete Sessions before entering elective office.
Political career
Before entering elective office, Dan Crenshaw served as a legislative assistant to Representative Pete Sessions following his career as a U.S. Navy SEAL officer. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018 and has been serving as the representative for Texas's 2nd congressional district since 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he has remained with the party throughout his tenure in Congress.
