Crow, Jason

Jason Crow represents Colorado's 6th congressional district and serves as Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Intelligence and Special Operations. As the ranking member of the minority party, Crow leads Democratic opposition and scrutiny within this subcommittee, which oversees intelligence activities, special operations forces, and related defense matters. While ranking members lack the agenda-setting power of committee chairs, this position gives Crow significant influence over investigations, hearings, and the legislative direction of intelligence and special operations policy.

Crow brings substantial expertise to this role through his military background. He served as an Army Ranger, completing three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division and 75th Ranger Regiment. In 2003, he led an airborne platoon into combat during the Battle of Samawah and received the Bronze Star Medal for his service. After leaving active duty, he earned a law degree from the University of Denver and practiced as a partner at Holland and Hart. He also served on the Colorado Board of Veterans Affairs from 2009 to 2014, deepening his knowledge of military and veteran issues.

Crow's legislative work reflects his military and intelligence background. He has sponsored bills including the Veterans with ALS Reporting Act and the No Political Enemies Act, demonstrating focus on veteran welfare and institutional integrity. His committee assignments span the House Armed Services Committee, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and subcommittees on cyber security and open source intelligence, positioning him as a key voice on defense and intelligence matters.
