Huizenga, Bill

Bill Huizenga is a U.S. Representative from Michigan's 4th congressional district, serving since 2011 after prior service in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. His district encompasses much of Southwestern Michigan, including Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, and Holland. As chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee's Subcommittee on South and Central Asia, Huizenga oversees U.S. diplomatic and strategic interests in a region of significant geopolitical importance. This subcommittee role gives him influence over foreign policy priorities, oversight of State Department activities, and the ability to shape legislation affecting American engagement in South and Central Asia.

He opposes the Affordable Care Act and is a member of the Congressional Pro-Life caucus, having voted against federal funding for abortion services. He voted against the Respect for Marriage Act, which codified marriage equality protections.
