Huizenga, Bill

Bill Huizenga is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, currently serving Michigan's 4th congressional district. His district encompasses much of Southwestern Michigan, including the communities of Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, and Holland. Huizenga first entered Congress in 2011 and previously represented the state's 2nd district. Before his tenure in Washington, he served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009.

In the House, Huizenga holds significant roles on the Committee on Financial Services and the Committee on Foreign Affairs. He chairs the Subcommittee on South and Central Asia and is an active member of subcommittees focused on financial institutions and digital assets. His legislative work includes sponsoring bills related to artificial intelligence security, military readiness, and public company accounting oversight.

Huizenga maintains a consistently conservative voting record. He is a member of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus and has supported legislation to restrict federal funding for abortions. He has also been a vocal opponent of the Affordable Care Act and voted against the Respect for Marriage Act. Throughout his career, he has remained active in state-level politics, frequently endorsing candidates for the Michigan legislature.
