Diana Harshbarger is a Republican Representative from Tennessee's 1st district who is a licensed pharmacist and the only woman in Tennessee’s house delegation.
Background
Born in Kingsport, Tennessee, Diana Harshbarger was the first person in her family to graduate from high school. She attended East Tennessee State University and earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University. Before entering politics, she worked as a licensed pharmacist starting in 1987 and operated a compounding pharmacy with her husband.
Political career
Diana Harshbarger entered federal office as a first-time candidate after a career as a licensed pharmacist and business owner. She has served as the U.S. representative for Tennessee's 1st congressional district since 2021, following her election in 2020 to succeed Phil Roe. A member of the Republican Party, she won reelection to her House seat in 2022 and 2024.
