Background
Born in Indiana on September 24, 1976, Erin Houchin attended Scottsburg Senior High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Indiana University Bloomington. She later received a Master of Arts in political management from George Washington University. Before her time in elected office, she worked as a field manager for U.S. Senator Dan Coats.
Political career
Erin Houchin began her political career as a field manager for U.S. Senator Dan Coats before serving in the Indiana Senate from 2014 to 2022. After an unsuccessful primary bid for the seat in 2016, she was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and has served as the representative for Indiana's 9th congressional district since 2023.
