Haridopolos, Mike

Mike Haridopolos represents Florida's 8th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party, he entered Congress in 2025 following a long career in Florida state politics. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2003 and the Florida Senate from 2003 to 2012, where he rose to the position of Senate President. Outside of public office, he has worked as a consultant and educator. He won his seat in 2024 after the retirement of longtime incumbent Bill Posey.

In the House, Haridopolos holds significant roles on the Committee on Financial Services and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. He serves as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics, a position of particular importance to his Florida district. His work on the Financial Services Committee includes memberships on subcommittees dedicated to Capital Markets, Oversight and Investigations, and Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Artificial Intelligence.

His legislative priorities include economic growth and financial transparency, as evidenced by his sponsorship of the Greenlighting Growth Act and the LEDGER Act. Throughout his career, he has been known for his conservative leadership, having previously presided over the largest Republican majority in the Florida Senate since the Reconstruction era. He continues to focus on fiscal policy and the advancement of the American aerospace industry.
