About
Jennifer Kiggans is a Republican Representative from Virginia's 2nd District and a former Navy helicopter pilot who previously served in the Virginia Senate.
Background
Born in Tampa, Florida, Jennifer Kiggans graduated from Boston University and later earned nursing degrees from Old Dominion University and Vanderbilt University. She served for ten years as a helicopter pilot in the United States Navy, flying H-46 and H-3 helicopters. Following her military service, she became a geriatric nurse practitioner, working both in private practice and at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Political career
Before her election to federal office, Jennifer Kiggans served in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022. A member of the Republican Party, she was first sworn into the U.S. House of Representatives in 2023 after defeating the incumbent in the 2022 election. She represents Virginia's 2nd congressional district and was re-elected to her seat in 2024.
