About
Susie Lee represents Nevada's 3rd congressional district, which encompasses southern Las Vegas and much of unincorporated Clark County. A Democrat first elected in 2019, Lee brings a background in community development to her work in Congress. Before entering elected office, she moved to Las Vegas in 1993 and became a founding director of the city's chapter of the Inner-City Games, now known as the After-School All-Stars, an organization providing after-school programming for children. She later served as board chair of Communities in Schools of Nevada, a nonprofit focused on dropout prevention.
In the House, Lee serves on the Committee on Appropriations, where she holds positions on three subcommittees: Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies, Defense, and Natural Resources. She also sits on the House Committee on Natural Resources, with assignments to the Energy and Mineral Resources and Federal Lands subcommittees. These assignments reflect her district's interests in water management, energy policy, and public lands issues relevant to Nevada.
Lee has sponsored legislation addressing workforce development, education, and veterans' services. Her bills include the Small Business Child Care Investment Act, the SHINE Act of 2026, the VA Zero Suicide Demonstration Project Act of 2025, the PATHS to Tutor Act of 2025, and the Hire Student Veterans Act, among others. Through her committee work and legislative priorities, she focuses on economic opportunity, education access, and support for vulnerable populations.
