About
Nancy Mace is the Republican U.S. representative for South Carolina's 1st district and was the first woman to graduate from the Corps of Cadets program at the Citadel Military College.
Background
Nancy Mace was born on December 4, 1977. In 1999, she became the first woman to graduate from the Corps of Cadets program at the Citadel Military College of South Carolina. Before her election to public office, she worked in political organizing, serving as a coalitions and field director for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Political career
Nancy Mace began her political career as a volunteer for Ron Paul's 2012 presidential campaign and later served in the South Carolina General Assembly from 2018 to 2020. She was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020, defeating an incumbent Democrat to become the first Republican woman elected to Congress from South Carolina. A member of the Republican Party, she has served as the representative for South Carolina's 1st congressional district since 2021 and was re-elected in 2022 and 2024.

Mace, Nancy represents the 1st congressional district of SC in the U.S. House. Mace, Nancy chairs the Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Government Innovation. They also serve on the Delivering on Government Efficiency and the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs.
