Pallone, Frank

Frank Pallone Jr. represents New Jersey's 6th Congressional District, a position he has held since 1988. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey, he earned his law degree from Rutgers University and a master's degree from Tufts University. Before entering federal office, he served on the Long Branch City Council and in the New Jersey State Senate. His long tenure in the House has established him as a senior member of the New Jersey delegation, representing a diverse district that includes parts of Middlesex and Monmouth counties.

Pallone is the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, a committee he previously chaired. His legislative work is heavily centered on healthcare and environmental issues. He played a pivotal role in authoring the Affordable Care Act and has consistently advocated for lowering prescription drug costs through measures like the Lowering Drug Costs for American Families Act. Additionally, he is a prominent advocate for the "Jersey Shore," frequently sponsoring legislation to ban offshore drilling and protect coastal ecosystems.

In addition to healthcare and the environment, Pallone focuses on consumer protection and telecommunications. His recent legislative efforts include the Don’t Sell Kids’ Data Act and the Prohibiting Tianeptine and Other Dangerous Products Act. Throughout his career, he has maintained leadership roles within the Democratic caucus, using his committee position to oversee national policy on energy, food safety, and internet regulation.
