American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2005

H.R. 1146, the American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2005, would require the United States to fully withdraw its membership from the United Nations and all affiliated organizations, such as the World Health Organization and UNESCO. The bill would end all federal funding for UN programs, close the U.S. Mission to the UN, and remove the United Nations headquarters from its location in New York City. Additionally, it would prohibit the U.S. military from participating in UN peacekeeping missions or serving under foreign command. For citizens, this would mean a complete shift in international relations, as the U.S. would no longer participate in the global diplomatic, legal, or financial frameworks established by the United Nations.
