Summary
Fair Treatment of Americans by Americans Act - Prohibits U.S. agents, during times of war and in another country with respect to which no protective treaty or international agreement is in effect, from detaining, or causing to be detained, a U.S. citizen unless the citizen receives: (1) reasonably adequate information concerning the reasons for detention; (2) reasonable access to counsel; and (3) reasonable opportunity and assistance to regularly communicate with family members.
Establishes criminal penalties for violations of this Act.
