Summary
Preservation of Civil Rights Protections Act of 2001 - Amends the Federal Arbitration Act to modify the definition of "commerce" so as to exclude employment contracts from arbitration provisions (currently, employment contracts of seamen, railroad employees, or any other class of workers engaged in foreign or interstate commerce are excluded).
Makes arbitration clauses in employment contracts unenforceable, with exceptions for: (1) consent by the involved parties after a claim arises; and (2) enforcement of rights or terms of collective bargaining agreements.
Provides that this Act shall apply to existing and future employment contracts.
