Summary
Assisting Doctors to Obtain Proficient and Transmissible Health Information Technology (ADOPT HIT) Act of 2007 - Amends the Internal Revenue Code to allow medical care providers to expense (i.e., deduct all costs in the current taxable year) up to $250,000 of the cost of health care information technology used primarily for the electronic creation, maintenance, and exchange of medical care information.
Directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to develop standards for hardware, software, and support services for the electronic exchange of health information.
