Prescription Drug Tampering Prevention Act of 2005
Summary
Prescription Drug Tampering Prevention Act of 2005 - Amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to establish criminal penalties of a fine or imprisonment for any term of years or for life, or both, for: (1) knowingly causing a prescription drug to be adulterated or misbranded and selling or trading the drug; or (2) purchasing or trading for a prescription drug knowing or having reason to know that the drug was knowingly caused to be adulterated or misbranded.
Modifies provisions pertaining to criminal fines for committing certain prohibited acts involving food, drugs, devices, or cosmetics.
