STOP MADURO Act

This bill would authorize the Department of State to offer a monetary reward of up to $100 million to individuals who provide information that directly leads to the arrest and conviction of Nicolas Maduro Moros, the president of Venezuela, for specified narcotics-related offenses. The reward could be paid to one or more individuals and could be claimed regardless of which country makes the arrest and conviction.

Under the bill's provisions, any reward payment would be funded exclusively through seized and frozen assets that have been withheld from Maduro, his regime officials, and their associates under existing U.S. laws and executive orders. This means no new taxpayer funds would be allocated for the reward. The bill is currently in the committee review stage and has not yet been voted on by the full House of Representatives.
