Compact-Impact Reimbursement Act

H.R. 2716, the Compact-Impact Reimbursement Act, would provide federal funding to Guam, Hawaii, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and American Samoa to help cover the costs of providing public services to migrants from nations under the Compact of Free Association. These funds are intended to offset the financial burden on local governments for healthcare, education, social services, and public safety infrastructure. Additionally, the bill would expand food stamp eligibility for these migrants and increase federal support for the prevention of communicable diseases across the Pacific territories and associated states.
