Stem Cell Therapeutic and Research Reauthorization Act of 2015

This law extends federal funding and support through 2020 for the national programs that coordinate bone marrow and umbilical cord blood donations. These programs, including the C.W. Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program, maintain a national registry to help patients with leukemia and other life-threatening diseases find matching donors for life-saving transplants. Additionally, the law requires federal health officials to review new scientific developments in adult stem cell therapies to ensure the registry remains updated with the latest medical treatments.
