Liberty Bill Act

The Liberty Bill Act (H.R. 2878) would require the U.S. Department of the Treasury to redesign the back of all paper money to include educational text about the United States government. Under this law, the reverse side of every Federal Reserve note would feature the Preamble to the Constitution, a list of the original Articles of the Constitution, and a list of the Amendments.

For the average citizen, this change would mean that everyday cash would serve as a portable reference for the nation’s founding documents. While the bill mandates these specific historical texts, it allows the Secretary of the Treasury to maintain existing security features and anti-counterfeiting measures on the currency.
