District of Columbia and United States Territories Circulating Quarter Dollar Program Act

This bill, introduced in 2003, authorized the U.S. Mint to issue six special-edition quarters in 2009 to honor the District of Columbia and the five U.S. territories: Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands. These coins were designed to follow the successful 50 State Quarters Program, featuring unique images on the reverse side that represent the history and culture of each specific location.
