Medicare Paramedic Intercept Services Coverage Act of 2005

This bill aims to expand Medicare coverage for "paramedic intercept services," which occur when a paramedic from one agency meets a basic-level ambulance from another agency to provide advanced life support (ALS) during an emergency transport. Under the proposed changes, Medicare would be required to cover these services in all geographic areas, removing the current restriction that limits coverage primarily to rural communities.
