CLEAR Act

This bill, officially known as the Carbon Limiting Emissions At Refineries (CLEAR) Act, would require the Secretary of Energy to develop a comprehensive plan for research, development, and commercialization projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions from fuel production facilities. The plan would specifically target technologies that can significantly lower the carbon intensity of refineries and other qualified facilities over a five-year period. For citizens, this legislation is intended to accelerate the transition toward cleaner energy production by providing a federal roadmap for modernizing industrial facilities and reducing their environmental impact.
