Agricultural Terrorism Prevention and Response Act of 2001
Summary
Directs the Secretary of Agriculture to: (1) continue and strengthen cooperation with other agencies; (2) appoint an agricultural liaison on terrorism to report to the Homeland Security Office and serve as a liaison on agricultural security matters; (3) establish an Industry Working Group on Agricultural Terrorism to develop counterterrorism measures to protect the U.S. agricultural production and food supply system; and (4) establish related training and information programs for agricultural producers.
States that: (1) the Department of Agriculture Counterterrorism Policy Council shall continue to serve as the Department's senior policy forum regarding terrorism issues; and (2) greater Federal and State financial and staff resources should be dedicated for the detection and interdiction of agricultural terrorism threats.
