Cold War Medal Act

H.R. 3201, the Cold War Medal Act, would authorize the Department of Defense to create and issue a specific service medal to veterans who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces during the Cold War. This recognition would be available to those who served at any point between September 2, 1945, and December 26, 1991. If passed, eligible veterans or their next of kin would be able to apply for the medal as a formal acknowledgment of their military service during this period of international tension.
