Terror Immigration Elimination Act of 2007

H.R. 3217 would have required the President to personally review and approve certain visas for citizens of Saudi Arabia and other countries designated as state sponsors of terrorism. This restriction would have applied specifically to student, vocational, and diversity visas, making it more difficult for individuals from those nations to enter the U.S. for education or through the visa lottery program. The bill did not become law and remained in the committee stage after its introduction in 2007.
