GRANTED Act of 2023

The GRANTED Act of 2023 aims to speed up the expansion of high-speed internet and cellular service by streamlining the federal permitting process for communications infrastructure. Under this bill, if a federal agency fails to approve or deny a completed application to install or maintain equipment on federal land within 270 days, the application would be automatically granted. For citizens, this is intended to reduce bureaucratic delays in deploying broadband and wireless technology, particularly in rural or underserved areas where federal land ownership often slows down connectivity projects.
