Bring the Ancient One Home Act of 2015

This bill directs the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to transfer the prehistoric human remains known as "Kennewick Man" or "the Ancient One" to the Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation. Under the legislation, the state department is required to repatriate the remains to a coalition of Native American tribes from the Pacific Northwest for traditional reburial. The bill ensures that the federal government covers all costs associated with the transfer, effectively resolving a long-standing legal and scientific dispute regarding the custody of the 9,000-year-old remains.
