Falun Gong Protection Act

The Falun Gong Protection Act (H.R. 4132) directs the U.S. government to impose sanctions on individuals and entities involved in the forced harvesting of human organs in China, a practice that reportedly targets practitioners of the Falun Gong spiritual movement and other prisoners of conscience. Under this bill, the President would be required to freeze the U.S.-based assets and revoke the visas of foreign persons found to be complicit in these activities. For everyday citizens, this legislation aims to prevent the U.S. financial and travel systems from being used by human rights violators and seeks to discourage international participation in unethical organ transplant practices. The bill passed the House of Representatives in June 2024 and is currently under consideration by the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
