Reading Failure Prevention Act of 2004
Summary
Reading Failure Prevention Act of 2004 - Authorizes the Secretary of Education to make grants to States to establish statewide programs for screening children between the ages of five and seven for the prevention of reading failure.
Requires a State to agree to use the grant to: (1) develop and implement a program that screens such children for traits that indicate dyslexia or that they are otherwise at risk of reading failure; and (2) provide adequate professional development for personnel who administer screening programs under this Act.
