ARC Act of 2023

The Amputation Reduction and Compassion (ARC) Act of 2023 aims to reduce preventable limb loss by expanding access to screenings for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). Under this bill, Medicare and Medicaid would be required to cover PAD screenings at no cost for high-risk individuals, such as those with diabetes or a history of smoking. Additionally, the legislation directs the Department of Health and Human Services to develop educational programs for healthcare providers and implement new quality measures to prioritize limb-saving treatments over amputations.
