MINT Act of 2025

H.R. 4459, the Modernize and Improve our National Tender Act of 2025, would modify U.S. coin production. The bill would permit the 5-cent coin (nickel) to be made with an inner layer of zinc and an outer layer of nickel, allowing the Secretary of the Treasury to adjust the composition if it reduces production costs.
