NDEA-21

H.R. 4734, known as the 21st Century National Defense Education Act (NDEA-21), aims to strengthen national security and economic competitiveness by increasing federal support for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education and foreign language proficiency. The bill would provide grants for K-12 STEM programs, create a national fellowship for STEM teachers, and offer student loan forgiveness for STEM graduates who work as teachers or in federal government roles. Additionally, it would establish new federal offices and advisory positions to coordinate foreign language instruction and cultural competency programs starting at the kindergarten level.
