Civil Rights Act of 1964 Commemorative Coin Act

This bill directs the Department of the Treasury to mint and issue up to 350,000 silver dollar coins in 2014 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. These limited-edition coins would feature designs symbolizing the landmark legislation and its impact on American civil rights. For each coin sold, a $10 surcharge would be collected and donated to the United Negro College Fund to support scholarships and operating expenses for historically Black colleges and universities.
