Mammography Quality Standards Reauthorization Act of 2002

This bill extends federal funding and oversight for mammography facilities through 2007 to ensure that breast cancer screening remains accurate and safe for patients. It allows the government to issue temporary certificates to clinics that are waiting for their official reaccreditation to be processed, preventing service interruptions for women as long as the facility’s quality of care is not compromised.
