To amend title 23, United States Code, to provide an exemption from Interstate System weight limitations for milk hauling vehicles in the State of Connecticut.

This bill would allow the State of Connecticut to issue special permits for trucks transporting liquid milk to carry loads weighing up to 99,000 pounds on Interstate highways. Under current federal law, these vehicles are generally restricted to lower weight limits when traveling on the Interstate System. By allowing heavier milk tankers to use the highway system, the legislation aims to streamline dairy transportation and reduce the number of individual trips required to move milk from farms to processing facilities.
