Stop the Automated Calls Act

H.R. 4931, the Stop the Automated Calls Act, would expand the national "Do Not Call" registry to include a ban on automated political phone calls. Under this legislation, the Federal Trade Commission would be required to prohibit telemarketers and political organizations from sending pre-recorded political messages to any phone number listed on the registry. The bill aims to provide citizens with the same protections against automated political "robocalls" that they currently have against commercial solicitations.
