Brigadier General Francis Marion Memorial Act of 2007

This bill sought to authorize the creation of a memorial in Washington, D.C., to honor Brigadier General Francis Marion, a Revolutionary War hero known as the "Swamp Fox." The project would have been managed by a private committee responsible for all costs associated with the memorial's design and construction. Under the terms of the bill, no federal taxpayer funds would have been used to build or maintain the monument. While the House of Representatives passed the measure, it was ultimately postponed indefinitely by the Senate and did not become law.
