Cesar Estrada Chavez Study Act

H.R. 5047, the Cesar Estrada Chavez Study Act, would require the Department of the Interior to conduct a formal study of locations in Arizona, California, and other western states that were significant to the life of Cesar Chavez and the farm labor movement. The study would evaluate these sites to determine if they qualify for the National Register of Historic Places or designation as National Historic Landmarks. If enacted, this bill would provide the necessary research to help preserve these historical locations and develop educational programs to interpret their significance for the public.
