Federal Employees Dental and Vision Benefits Enhancement Act of 2004

This bill, which was signed into law in December 2004, established the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). It allows current and retired federal employees, including postal workers and their dependents, to purchase supplemental dental and vision insurance at group rates. While the program provides access to a wide range of services—such as orthodontics and eyewear—enrollees are responsible for paying the full cost of their premiums.
