Summary
Amends the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to expand the definition of "line of duty" for purposes of public safety officer death benefit determinations to mean any action which: (1) a public safety officer is obligated or authorized by rule, regulation, condition of employment or service, or law to perform, including those social, ceremonial, or athletic functions to which the officer is assigned, or for which the officer is compensated, by the public agency he serves; and (2) an officer or public employee performs that occurs in a jurisdiction other than that of the employing agency but would otherwise be recognized as obligated or authorized if the activity had taken place within the employing agency's jurisdiction.
