Small Business Disaster Assistance Act of 1999

This bill would authorize the Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide direct financial support to small businesses and agricultural enterprises struggling to recover from natural or other disasters. Under the proposal, eligible businesses could receive grants of up to $30,000 or low-interest loans to help cover the costs of reopening their doors. To qualify for this assistance, businesses located in high-risk flood zones would be required to maintain flood insurance to protect against future losses.
