To provide for interim appropriations for the District of Columbia courts and related agencies with respect to any fiscal year for which appropriations are not otherwise provided for such courts and agencies.

This bill would provide continuing appropriations to keep the District of Columbia courts and related judicial agencies funded during any fiscal year when regular appropriations have not been enacted. If passed, it would protect these courts from shutting down due to lapses in federal funding. The bill would maintain funding for the DC Courts, defender services, the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency, the Public Defender Service, the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, and judicial commissions at levels from the prior fiscal year.

The practical effect would be to ensure that DC's court system and related agencies could continue operating and serving the public even when Congress fails to pass regular appropriations bills on time, preventing disruptions to judicial proceedings and criminal justice services. Currently, the bill has been introduced in the House and referred to committee for consideration.
