Child Predators Accountability Act

The Child Predators Accountability Act of 2025 aims to broaden the legal definitions used to prosecute the production of child pornography. Currently, federal law focuses on individuals who coerce or induce minors to actively engage in sexually explicit conduct for visual recordings. This bill proposes to expand that scope to include any instance where a minor is depicted in such materials, even if they are not the primary participant in the sexual act.

If enacted, the legislation would clarify that the term engage in includes a minor's mere presence within a sexually explicit depiction. This change is intended to make it easier for federal law enforcement to prosecute individuals involved in the creation of exploitative materials where a child is present but may not be performing a specific sexual action. As a standard piece of legislation, this bill would require approval from both chambers of Congress and the President's signature to become law.
