To amend title 28, United States Code, to provide for individuals serving as Federal jurors to continue to receive their normal average wage or salary during such service.

This bill would require both public and private employers to continue paying employees their regular salary or average daily wage while they serve as jurors in federal court. Under this proposal, the amount an employer pays would be reduced by any jury fees or allowances the individual receives from the government. Additionally, the bill allows a person to be excused from jury service if their employer can demonstrate that providing this pay would cause the business significant financial hardship.
