District of Columbia Police Home Rule Act

H.R. 810, the District of Columbia Police Home Rule Act, would repeal the President’s authority to take direct control of the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). Under current law, the President can assume command of the local police force during a declared emergency for federal purposes.
