Access to Thermal Imaging Cameras Act

H.R. 827, the Access to Thermal Imaging Cameras Act, would establish a federal grant program to help local fire departments purchase thermal imaging technology. These cameras allow firefighters to see through smoke and heat, making it easier to locate victims and navigate burning buildings during emergencies. Under this proposal, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) would cover 67% of the equipment costs, while the local fire department would be responsible for the remaining 33%.
